Sally Hook - Artist's Page

I'm interested in finding

the true nature of my
motivations in making clay  objects...like the  proverbial
'
peeling of an onion', I want to
 get down through the layers
and see what - if anything,
is behind it all.

Of my clay life. I have
been very fortunate indeed
to have 30 years to spend
on my obsession, with  the
constant support from my
partner Dirka, many and varied
teachers of incredible talent,
travel to other countries to
learn from them and the
freedom to make anything
that interests me..

With this freedom comes the responsibility to make objects
that don't add to the world's
dross.  I am on a journey of
discovery, working out things,
following my instincts. no matter what.  That means being ready to
try anything and keep moving
towards worthwhile goals.

These days I show my work to
the public gaze without concerns
of its reception and that the
future is a constant mine that will produce both diamonds and stones.
